The Smart Sister Mentoring Program (SSMP) is designed to assist international women scientists and engineers in Korea by broadening their networking opportunities and facilitating their integration into Korean society. To achieve this goal, KWSE offers mentoring sessions that focus on career development, while also providing a platform for young female professionals to voice the challenges they encounter.  

 

  1. Eligibility
  • Mentee: Science and engineering students or junior researchers living in Korea
  • Mentor: Women scientists and engineers working in STEM-related fields in Korea

 

  1. Program Insights
  • Mentoring Period: April 1st to October 31st, 2024
  • Benefits:

-  KRW 200,000 honorarium per session for mentors (mentoring session report required)
-  Meeting costs (meals and refreshments) covered for in-person mentoring sessions
-  Certificate

  • Mentoring Topics: Career development, Job readiness skills, Education/Academic guidance, etc.
  • Teams: Formation of three mentor-mentee pairs, with KWSE facilitating one-on-one session matchups based on application submissions.
  • Session requirement: Five mentoring sessions during the period
